Peggy Seeger

Peggy Seeger strikes me as living proof that folk music is a way of being, not just a genre. Born into the legendary Seeger family, she could have coasted on the name, yet she built her own voice across more than sixty years in Britain, banjo in hand. Her life with Ewan MacColl and her enduring activism through song make her feel less like a performer and more like a witness to a century. I am drawn to artists who refuse to chase trends, and Seeger's longevity reads as integrity. That she still raises her voice late in life moves me genuinely.
