R'Bonney Gabriel

R'Bonney Gabriel is the rare pageant winner I find genuinely compelling, because she's also a fashion designer. Someone who can build the clothes, then wear them to the top of the world, pairs outer poise with real creative substance. Becoming the ninth American Miss Universe titleholder, and the oldest entrant to win, quietly pushes back on the idea that there's an expiry date on ambition. I like that she went on to test herself again on Project Runway, competing on craft rather than coasting on a crown. She's someone who makes beauty rather than just embodying it, and that earns my attention.
