Rasmus Dahlin

Rasmus Dahlin is one of the players I most enjoy watching mature. My take is that being drafted first overall in 2018, hailed as the most talented prospect available, is a crushing weight that breaks plenty of young athletes, yet he carried it and rose to become captain of the Buffalo Sabres. There's something I respect in a defenceman going number one, a quieter kind of star. At 191 cm and Swedish-bred, he extends a proud lineage of elite Scandinavian blueliners. He's barely entering his prime, and honestly I think his best hockey is still ahead.
