Ren Kakigi

Ren Kakigi was born on June 25, 2000, in Taku, Saga Prefecture, went from Osaka Toin High School to the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters as their fifth-round pick in the 2018 draft, pitched for their first team in June 2022, and was with the club until 2024. But I think it is worth saying plainly that a short first-team record is not a verdict on a career. Professional baseball is full of players who spend years in uniform without ever becoming household names, doing work that never generates a headline. The gap between what is documented and what was actually lived is enormous for most of them. What I can say is that getting from a small city in Saga to a professional roster is already a narrow path that very few walk. That line alone carries weight.
