My Take
Honestly, the Ultimate Warrior might be the single most electrifying entrance in wrestling history — that full sprint to the ring, the face paint, the rope shaking, the primal scream, it was like watching a force of nature wearing tasseled boots. Born in Crawfordsville, Indiana, James Hellwig built himself into something that barely looked human, then convinced an entire generation of kids that he genuinely was. His WWF run in the late '80s and early '90s produced some of the era's biggest moments, including that WrestleMania VI win over Hulk Hogan that felt like a changing of the guard. His promos were famously chaotic — part motivational speech, part fever dream — but somehow they worked. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame just days before he passed away in April 2014, and the timing was heartbreaking yet strangely fitting. He went out still one of the most iconic figures the sport ever produced.
