Tim Witherspoon

Tim Witherspoon earns my respect as a true product of Philadelphia's brutal fight culture. Holding both the WBC and WBA heavyweight crowns, and beating names like Frank Bruno and Tony Tubbs, puts him firmly among the serious champions of his era. What strikes me most is longevity: he fought from 1979 all the way to 2003, a span that demands grit far beyond raw talent. His career sits in a golden, crowded heavyweight age, which makes his titles harder-won than the record alone suggests. I see him as one of those resilient warriors history under-celebrates but should not.
