My Take

Tommy Dreamer is one of those names that instantly transports me back to the wild, blood-and-guts energy of ECW. Born Thomas Laughlin in Yonkers, he built a reputation as a hardcore icon, and what strikes me most is his longevity. The guy is still going, signed to TNA and once holding their Digital Media Championship, on top of running his own House of Hardcore promotion. I respect performers who stay close to the craft long after the spotlight fades, and Dreamer clearly loves wrestling more than wrestling has ever loved him back. That kind of devotion is rare, and it's why fans still cheer.
