My Take
Chris Pine is my favorite of Hollywood's many Chrises because he seems faintly amused by his own stardom. A Berkeley-educated leading man who landed Captain Kirk, he plays heroes with an ironic intelligence that keeps blockbusters from feeling mechanical. His Steve Trevor in Wonder Woman is a masterclass in generous acting — a star happily playing support so the film around him works better. I suspect his best chapter is still ahead: the character-actor years, where the cheekbones matter less than the timing. Anyone with his range on stage, screen, and voice work can age into greatness, and I would bet on him doing exactly that.
