My Take
David Malukas is exactly the sort of young driver I enjoy rooting for. Born in Chicago in 2001, he has climbed through Dale Coyne, Meyer Shank and A.J. Foyt before landing the No. 12 Chevrolet at Team Penske, one of the most storied names in IndyCar. Earning a seat there says plenty about his ability. Still in his mid-twenties, he is all upside, and I have a weakness for hungry, slightly raw talent that keeps reaching higher.
