My Take

Dwight Yorke is one of my favourite kinds of footballer: a man who played with a permanent smile yet finished chances with ice in his veins. His 1998 treble partnership with Andy Cole at Manchester United remains one of the most joyful strike pairings I can remember. What I find genuinely inspiring is his journey from tiny Canaan in Tobago to the summit of European football. It is a reminder that talent does not respect borders or population size. He represents the very best of Caribbean football and remains, for me, proof that flair and ruthlessness can happily coexist.
