Haruna Anno

Haruna Anno is one of those people who makes you stop and think about where someone comes from — not in a cliché way, but genuinely. She was born in 1988 in Sagara Village, Kumamoto, which is about as deep into rural Japan as it gets, a tiny mountain village that most people in Tokyo have never heard of. And yet she found her way into the entertainment world as a talent. She carved out a niche of her own as a "game idol" on TV shows and in magazines and even wrote a retro-gaming guide, which is a genuinely distinctive way to make a name. From Sagara to the spotlight is its own quiet story, and I'm here for it.
