My Take

Jalen McDaniels is exactly the kind of long, switchable forward the modern NBA covets, and his time in Charlotte showed flashes of a genuine two-way contributor when he got minutes. He's never been a guaranteed rotation lock, which makes him one of those players whose value you only appreciate when you watch the defensive possessions closely rather than the box score. The McDaniels brothers story is fun too; both made it from the Seattle area, with younger brother Jaden becoming the bigger name. I root for journeymen like Jalen who carve out a career on effort and versatility instead of hype.
