My Take

What I admire most about Ken Wilber is the sheer audacity of his ambition. Building a four-quadrant grid that claims to map all of human knowledge and experience is the kind of intellectual gamble most thinkers never dare to attempt. Bridging Eastern contemplative traditions with Western psychology and science, he carved out transpersonal territory that few took seriously at the time. Born in Oklahoma City in 1949 and educated at Duke, he reads to me as a born system-builder. Whether or not one buys his integral theory wholesale, I find the reach of his vision genuinely inspiring and worth grappling with.
