Lasith Malinga

What grabs me about Malinga is that he won on his own terms. That low, slingshot-style action breaks every coaching textbook, yet he turned it into one of the most feared deliveries in the limited-overs game. To me he is proof that originality, when paired with relentless work, beats orthodoxy. Captaining Sri Lanka to the 2014 T20 World Cup title sealed his legacy, but it is those impossible yorkers at the death that I will always replay in my head. A small island producing a global great is a story I never tire of.
