Masahiro Tateishi

Masahiro Tateishi was born in Hōfu, Yamaguchi in 2003, came up through Takagawa Gakuen and won a batting triple crown in his second year at Sōka University. In the 2025 draft three clubs took him with their first pick, and the Hanshin Tigers won the lottery. He singled on the first pitch of his first professional at-bat in May 2026. Staying in competitive Japanese baseball from middle school through university means years of early mornings and a body shaped entirely around one game, in a system that quietly filters out almost everyone. It is still too early to say what kind of player he will be, and this page is a record of him before the world has decided.
