My Take
For me Steven Bauer will always be Manny in Scarface, the loyal right hand to Tony Montana, but his career is far richer than that one iconic turn. Born in Havana and raised in Miami, he carries his Cuban roots into the immigrant-rooted characters he has long played, and that authenticity gives his work real texture. His Don Eladio in Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul oozed quiet menace. He has never been a trophy magnet, but staying in demand for decades in meaty, layered roles is its own proof of craft. I deeply enjoy the Latin soul he brings to every performance.
