My Take
Anna Tanaka feels like a from-Toyama-to-the-world story in the making, and I'm rooting for it. Born in 2005, she is a singer, actor and model who, despite being Japanese, built her career in South Korea, debuting in 2024 with the girl group Meovv under The Black Label. Throwing yourself into a foreign language and culture as a teenager to compete in K-pop's brutal market is far harder than it looks from the outside. The fact that she was chosen there at all suggests something genuinely special. I'm genuinely curious to see how far her talent carries her.
