Erriyon Knighton

Erriyon Knighton is genuinely one of the most exciting young sprinters I've ever watched, and it almost feels unfair that he showed up at the senior world stage before most teenagers have figured out their lunch orders. Born in 2004, he became the youngest individual sprint medalist in World Athletics Championships history when he took bronze in the 200m in Eugene at just 18 — and then went right back to Budapest in 2023 and grabbed silver. What gets me is the easy, elastic stride; he doesn't look like he's straining the way some runners do, he looks like he's just choosing to go fast. The guy came out of Hillsborough High School in Tampa, which tells you how early his talent showed. Still only 22, the ceiling here is genuinely terrifying for everyone else on the starting line.
