Katsunori Takahashi

Katsunori Takahashi is the kind of politician who'll never go viral but probably gets more done than the ones who do. Born in 1957 in Takanezawa — a small farming town in Tochigi that most people couldn't find on a map — he went to Meiji University, came back to his roots, and built a career the old-fashioned way: knocking on doors, listening to locals, grinding it out. He's not the guy holding press conferences with a celebrity wife or trending on social media — and honestly? That's kind of refreshing. Local government in Japan runs on people exactly like this: quietly competent, deeply embedded in the community, not there for the spotlight. Respect where respect is due.
