My Take
I'll be honest, Rise Shiokawa is one of those names I'm still getting to know, and I kind of love that. Here's a model and talent born in the summer of 2000 in Yamanashi, who spent her teens in the idol group Tenkou Shoujo* and now sings with Sweet Steady, which already gives her this clean-slate, new-era feel to me. She's clearly putting herself out there on Instagram and X, and I get a real soft spot for young talent still building. That kind of upward trajectory is fun to watch, and I'm genuinely rooting for her.
