Omara Portuondo

Omara Portuondo is living musical history. Born in 1930s Havana and still performing well past ninety, she is the rare artist whose voice has only deepened with the decades. She is unmatched at coaxing emotion from a bolero, yet she moves freely through jazz and son cubano with effortless range. The Latin Grammy honors, including the 2023 award, simply confirm a lifetime spent onstage. To encounter an artist this authentic feels like a gift.
