My Take
Man, those blue eyes. Paul Newman was the rare movie star who actually got better with age, and I love him for it. I'll never get tired of his cool, sweat-soaked defiance in Cool Hand Luke, the cocky hustle of "Fast Eddie" Felson, or the easy chemistry he and Robert Redford had as Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. He finally snagged his Best Actor Oscar reprising Eddie in The Color of Money, and honestly it felt overdue. But what makes me genuinely admire the guy is everything off-screen: he chased racecars for real well into his later years, and he poured his Newman's Own profits straight into charity. A gorgeous leading man who turned out to be the real deal. They don't make them like him anymore.
